Italian National Day: Castello Italia at Casa Loma 2018

 

For four years now Casa Loma has been transformed into “Castello Italia” to celebrate Italian National Day, also known as la Festa della Repubblica, and Italian Heritage Month in Canada. Every year the event attracts over 4,000 attendees thanks to the numerous food tasting stations, wine and espresso samplings, entertainment and exhibitions.

This year’s highlights include

  • The Canadian debut of an artistic photo exhibit by Alfredo Cannatello: “Assisi, The Medieval City” (The poetic transcendence of its patrimony)
  • An impressive line-up of local and international artists
  • Cultural programs; including The Divine Comedy for Children
  • A spectacular exotic car showcase featuring Ferrari – Italy’s iconic automotive brand
  •  Italian culinary tour featuring samples from Toronto’s top restaurants including: Buca, Sotto Sotto,
  • Terroni/Sud Forno, TOCA and Cibo Wine Bar
  • Wine tasting experience from Italy’s prominent regions like Tuscany and Veneto
  • An interactive Kid’s Zone with Milan Junior Camps Canada, arts & crafts, a magic show, a scavenger hunt and pony rides
  • The Canadian semifinals of the 2018 Barilla Pasta World Championship
  • Live to Air Radio and Television Broadcast on CHIN Radio/TV
